Queston 4 is a difficult one: "Why was Anis chosen by the Bab to share with Him the crown of martyrdom?" It reminds me of the difficult question in Unit 1: "Now, in your own heart, consider the following question: Why do you think you were able to recognize Baha'u'llah?"
Yeah, I was wondering about that one too. Maybe it was to show the people watching that his message was so powerful that a young man would want to give up his life to be near him and would actually go through with it without fear. It is an individual example of the Bab's influence.
I was also thinking about his age. Here again is a son being sacrificed for the love of God. Earlier the Bab Sacrificed his own son Ahmad. I wonder if Anis was 9 years old and whether the Bab was martyred 9 years after his son died?
I think that Anis was chosen, in a way, before he ever met the Bab; when the Bab comes to him in a dream.
I always likt to think that Anis was chosen because of his obedience. When the Bab asks his companions to kill him rather then to be killed by the enemy, Anis is the only pure hearted one who steps up, with complete obedience and love, to do the task.
PURPOSE: To gain spiritual insights into the significance of this Day and the promises it holds for humanity.
Unit Two: The Life of the Bab
PURPOSE: To learn to narrate the story of the Bab's life and gain an apprecation of the potency of hs short and dramatic Ministry.
PRACTICE: Visit a few families and share with them a simple illustrated presentation of the Bab's life.
Unit Three: The Life of Baha'u'llah
PURPOSE: To learn to narrate the story of Baha'u'llah's life and gain an appreciation of the magnitude of the spiritual forces released by Him.
PRACTICE: Visit a few families and share with them a simple illustrated presentation of Baha'u'llah's life.
